Our favorite chairs to create are the one of a kind collaborations we have the opportunity to make with fine art creators such as Brandi Milne. We loved the chair we made featuring her painting “Baron of the Deep” SO much, we asked her to allow us to move forward with more! She made our year by agreeing to the creation of two new chairs featuring “The Telling Tale” and “How Can I Shine Without You”.
The results were two gorgeous chairs, with such warm, soft, subtle rich color I can only say the pictures don’t do them justice.
We are adding to our family by having a baby who is due in just 2 days! So needless to say, our furniture work has had to take a bit of a backseat to new obligations and time restrictions. Making us EXTRA grateful to have such beautiful art to use as our muse for our limited number of pieces we have time to make.
The chairs are currently available for purchase on our online etsy shop, check them out!
As a company whose main goal is to provide pieces that our customers will enjoy, we do our best to choose fabrics and colors to please a large audience. When we stumbled across Thomas Paul upholstery fabrics, we knew we had found a great variety of options to choose from for Rubbish Rehab. A combination of vintage natural history and modern color options make the one of a kind prints just what the doctor ordered. We were recently featured on their website for use of their upholstery fabrics from our Etsy shop, and we couldn’t be more grateful! Check out some of our newest chair options utilizing Thomas Paul upholstery fabrics.
Having the opportunity to expand our options in fabric to include the incredible artwork by Camilla d’Errico is so rewarding. When we began our small company back in 2010 all we wanted to do was have fun and create quality work people could appreciate in their own homes. To now in 2013 be able to say we have shown some of our pieces in a high end art gallery is such a surreal statement; and we have Camilla to thank for it. She was willing to take a chance on us sharing her beautiful images that she takes such care to create, we are so grateful and excited to still be working with her! If you are ever in the Vancouver, BC area please stop by the Ayden Gallery to check out the available pieces in person.
I am lucky enough to still keep in contact with a few high school friends from Alaska, one important member of this group is Vanessa; a recent graduate from law school! We are delivering her custom ordered chair and ottoman to her in Seattle just after her great achievement comes to an end. She chose the pieces, colors, and even found this custom organic upholstery fabric we ordered from California. I love how it turned out and am so grateful for her coming to us for this fun project! Thank you Vanessa!
